About the event

Dr. Joe Hakkinen has been a beekeeper for 8 years, starting when he retired and moved to Bastrop County from The Woodlands, Texas.  Joe graduated in 1977 from Rice University with a doctorate degree in geology.  Joe is a field geologist, naturalist and amateur nature photographer, and in fact, he has taken nearly all the photos used in this presentation.  He is currently the President of the Bastrop County Beekeepers Association.

We have added additional parking on the property for events or when needed. The Ewing Parking Lots in the front and area in the back are only available after 5pm weekdays and all day on weekends. Please do not park there.
